Bakery Café Post
A short prose on the bakery café I owned, the beginning of the brewing of ideas for the Ikigai Café.
My office. Every day.
What my eyes can see - aesthetically pleasant Art Deco interiors hosting people from different walks of life.
What my nose can smell - cookies and coffee freshly baked from the oven and freshly roasted beans, grounded, and the cup waits.
What my ears can hear - the sounds of café music alongside the sizzle of the espresso machine and the joyful laughter of our barista and bakers.
What my mouth can taste - heaven on earth stimulating my taste buds of sweet desserts and bold, flavorful coffee taste notes.
What my hands can touch - your cup of coffee that I will brew in front of you, the sounds of strokes on the keyboard as I play the numbers game, the shuffling of papers, the register and the laptop as I build the systems.
Order and chaos in this physical space. Order and chaos in my mind palace. Barista. CPA. MBA.
The beginnings of an empire. From the bottom to the top. The floor. The counter. Systems. Processes. People. Creating the business in a box, The Dough Story by 8th Block Bakery Café, now open for franchising!
Our conversation trailed off just as you were getting the Bakery started... It looks like the idea came and went... I'm looking forward to following your adventures. I just added you to my collection of "Life Artists."
